Introduction
This document is a list of the monographs and books of the global affiliates and scholars of the International Water Law Academy (IWLA) at the China Institute of Ocean and Boundary Studies (CIBOS) at Wuhan University. https://iwla.whu.edu.cn/
IWLA affiliates actively collaborate globally as a unified network of researchers on International Water Law (IWL) topics. The IWLA catalyses this IWL community in sharing its ideas and experiences and supporting the development of research projects and the dissemination of research outcomes, in particular through academic publications. The affiliates are active in different domains of water law and therefore contribute their expertise in different specialities to the governance of transboundary waters and to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in particular SDG 6 and target 6.5 on the governance of transboundary waters. https://sdgs.un.org/goals/goal6#targets_and_indicators In contributing to the implementation of the SDGs, the affiliates are also contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations (UN). https://sdgs.un.org/2030agenda
They also contribute through IWLA and their various institutions and initiatives to the Water Action Agenda developed at the World Water Conference in New York in March 2023. https://sdgs.un.org/partnerships/action- networks/water
This list does not include all the publications and books of our affiliates, some of our senior affiliates have many decades of experience and publications and have been key individuals involved in the development of international water law. As much of their work was done before the year 2000, it is not possible to fully reflect their immense contribution succinctly in just one document. Without their long years of dedication to developing international water law, it would not have been possible to be where we are today in terms of transboundary water governance. But for reasons of space and to reflect developments of the last 20 years, we have limited our selection to monographs after 2003.
The document is divided into two sections, section one consists of monographs by one author and are in alphabetical order except for the first one which is a monograph of our Director, Prof. Patricia Wouters. Section two consists of books with multiple authors, at least one of which is an affiliate. We hope and trust that you will discover the rich scholarship of our affiliates and that it will be useful to your work.
