This book, edited by Mara Tignino, Raya Marina Stephan, Renée Martin-Nagle, and Owen McIntyre, a Founding Affiliate Member of our Academy, consists of a collection of papers on water law and governance selected from those presented at the XVI World Water Congress of the International Water Resources Association (IWRA), held in Cancun, Mexico in 2017. Though the chapters included demonstrate the great diversity of research ongoing across the expansive field of water resources law and policy, each examines how science can be integrated into legal decision-making to ensure rational, evidence-based governance.
