Bionote

Xingjun Yu has been long engaged in river basin planning and international cooperation on water science & technology and trans-boundary rivers management. As the team leader, he has been deeply involved in trans-boundary river negotiations with such neighboring countries as India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and North Korea etc. He was responsible for drafting inter-governmental agreements on trans-boundary rivers. As the head of Joint Working Group for Lancang-Mekong Water resources Cooperation from China, he has been leading the whole process of Lancang-Mekong water resources cooperation, particularly the drafting of the Five-Year Action Plan for Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Cooperation (2018-2022) and implementation of all cooperative projects. He was in charge of a number of National Key Scientific & Technological Projects in the areas of trans-boundary river and international cooperation. He has been undertaking strategic studies on international water laws and policies as well as technology researches on trans-boundary rivers. He prepared and published a number of articles and books on trans-boundary rivers and sustainable water resources management.
